The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is Abu Dhabi’s national oil company and ranks high among world oil companies. The company was established in 1971 and has continuously awarded multimillion-dollar contracts to local companies. It also works with foreign companies; however, they will have to partner up with a local sponsor or work through a local agent.

Currently, the company is headquartered in Abu Dhabi and manages all aspects of the UAE’s oil and gas industry. It produces over 3.1 million barrels daily, and its oil reserves hold about 97.8 billion barrels. 

Strict Qualification procedure

In a bid to expand and maintain its high-quality standards, ADNOC introduced the ADNOC registration, a rigorous qualification procedure for both vendors and suppliers looking to be part of the company’s corporate network.

Anyone looking to work and cooperate with ADNOC will be required to undergo this qualification procedure and get approval for the registration.

First, the SPC approval, which is required for ADNOC registration, is only reserved for Abu Dhabi based companies – That is, a company is eligible for ANOC registration if its license issued by the Abu Dhabi mainland licensing authority. Additionally, 51% of the company shares have to be owned by an Abu Dhabi Local.

Additionally, companies formed at Abu Dhabi’s free zones are also eligible for SPC approval. However, these approvals are subject to approval by SPC on a case to case basis.

Note: While Contracting and vendor companies must be Abu Dhabi based to become eligible for ADNOC registration, the same does not apply to manufacturers. Any manufacture across the UAE is eligible to register with the ADNOC group.
